Affiliate disclosure
mycsmajor is free to use. To keep it that way, the site may earn money from affiliate links and, in future, from ads. Here is exactly what that means.
Last updated 23 October 2026.
Affiliate links
Some links in our Gear Guides are, or will become, affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the shop may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.
Every affiliate link is marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code, as search engines ask, and every page with buy links carries a short disclosure near them. At the time of writing, the buy links still point to the makers' own websites while affiliate programmes are set up.
How we choose what to recommend
- We recommend things based on what matters for a computer science student: memory, battery life, keyboard comfort, noise and value.
- A commission never decides whether something is recommended or where it appears on the page.
- We name product lines rather than chasing every new model, and we tell you what you can safely skip buying.
Ads
The site does not show ads today. If that changes, ads will be clearly labelled "Advertisement", kept away from problem solutions, and the privacy policy will be updated before they appear.
What is never for sale
Daily problems, solutions, Python Book chapters and Cyber Brief articles are written to teach. They do not contain paid placements.
